Trade Idea: St Louis Blues Deal Vladimir Tarasenko to Nashville Predators

St Louis Blues sniper Vladimir Tarasenko has found himself in the middle of some trade rumors. The Blues are expected to make some changes to their forward group and his name has come up more than once. While there's been some chatter about the Calgary Flames or Washington Capitals, here's another trade to consider.

Blues deal Tarasenko and Vince Dunn to the Nashville Predators in exchange for Viktor Arvidsson

The Blues end up losing a couple of good pieces but they get back Arvidsson who fits the team's identity to a tee and costs almost half the price. He's a hard-worker who has a ton of skill and doesn't take shifts off. Arvidsson also plays both wing positions which gives the Blues much more flexibility moving forward. This season the 28-year-old scored 10 goals in 50 games and as recent as 2019, scored 34. With consistent power play time and top line minutes, there's no doubt he can reach 70 points.

As for the Preds, Tarasenko provides them with a legitimate sniper to give their top-six a spark. He's a 40-goal scorer who has battled some injuries, but if healthy, is one of the best pure goal scorers in the league. He holds a no-trade clause, but playing hockey in Nashville seems like something he would approve. The Predators also obtain Dunn, who gives them some much needed depth on the left-side of their defense and someone who can continue to develop should Mattias Ekholm leave after next season.

The divisions going back to 'normal' could have a hinder on this deal, but these are two teams who could benefit from this trade.
