Trade Rumor: 3 Teams Linked to Jack Eichel Deal
According to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, the Buffalo Sabres have yet to give anyone permission to speak to Jack Eichel and he went on to mention when a deal goes down, expect the Sabres to land another top draft-pick.
Here are 3 teams to consider, if we go off of Friedman's claim about a high draft pick:
1. Anaheim Ducks: The Ducks would love for Eichel to be passed the torch from Ryan Getzlaf and they just may have the assets to do it. If they are willing to give up the #3 overall pick, that would allow the team to hold on to their high-end prospects such as Jamie Drysdale and Trevor Zegras. Anaheim has the money to make this deal work as Eichel comes with a big ticket of $10 million a season.
2. Chicago Blackhawks: The Hawks hold the 12th pick at the 2021 NHL Draft and would need to include at least one top prospect to get the Sabres to budge. Chicago's offseason is going to come down to the health of Jonathan Toews and keep an eye on the news surrounding his comeback. If Toews is once again out, Eichel could be in.
3. Columbus Blue Jackets: The Blue Jackets have been linked to the Sabres for months as they are desperately trying to find a #1 center. They hold the 5th pick at the draft, and if they want to walk away from another prospect could land Eichel instead. Eichel and Patrik Laine would be fun to watch next season.
