Video: Vegas Golden Knights Changing Goalies Again for Game 6
The Vegas Golden Knights face elimination on Thursday night as they get set to face the Montreal Canadiens in Game 6, down 3-2. Turns out head coach Peter DeBoer is going back to the Panda, as Robin Lehner practiced in the starter's net Thursday afternoon.
The goalie carousal has been a hot topic of discussion as both Lehner and Marc-Andre Fleury have seen time in this series. All coaches want two capable goaltenders but when the tough decisions come with it, some feel it's easier just to have one goalie who you know is 'your guy'. Regardless, the Golden Knights have a compliment of riches in their crease and 'Panda' appears set for Game 6.
Lehner last game was in Game 4, when he made 27 saves for an overtime victory. He admitted the chirping on Twitter before the game was very motivating for him. We'll have to wait and see how this plays out and be ready for a press conference for the ages after the game as Lehner loves to shoot from the hip.
Give Fleury and Lehner credit, they have handled this like professionals and you can see the chemistry and support on the ice in practice.
