2 Free Agent Targets for the Pittsburgh Penguins
The Pittsburgh Penguins have lost some of their left-wing depth with Jared McCann and Brandon Tanev both ending up with the Seattle Kraken. Penguins general manager Ron Hextall now has some work to do and a little more cap space to operate to target a free agent to add to his team.
2 Free Agent Targets for Pittsburgh
Mattias Janmark: The versatile forward split last season between the Chicago Blackhawks and Vegas Golden Knights and was on pace for 20-goals before the trade. It didn't go so well during the regular season in Vegas, however Janmark turned it on in the playoffs and shot up their depth chart. If he hits the open market next week, Hextall should look at him to replace Jared McCann as some reports have suggested.
Brandon Saad: Saad is from Pittsburgh and has been rumored to be heading there for years. Last season he scored 15 times for the Colorado Avalanche and added another seven goals in 10 games in the playoffs. If the Penguins go longer term they can get his salary down per season, which is something they'll need to do to make it work. Ideally the team would like to move Jason Zucker and replace him with Saad.
