2 Players Who Could Sign Offer Sheets This Summer

The NHL free agency period is set to begin near the end of the month and there's been some chatter about the dreaded offer sheet being showcased to a couple of restricted free agents. It's always a rare site to see when an RFA signs with another team, but this summer there could be multiple players putting ink on the dotted line.

2 Players Who Could Sign Offer Sheets

Cale Makar, Colorado Avalanche: Money talks, but it's going to take a boat load for Makar to even considering leaving Colorado. Why would he, right? There team is loaded with young talent and will eventually be able to get over the hump. Avs general manager Joe Sakic has made it very clear he doesn't care how much and he will be matching any offer that comes in for the future Norris trophy winner. Makar is a generational talent and we'll have to wait and see which GM is stupid enough to think their going to pry Makar out of Mile High.

Patrik Laine, Columbus Blue Jackets: Laine is a curious case because it's hard to put a value on his contract after a bad season. The move to Columbus did not go as planned and perhaps a new coach next season can help get him back on track. One team to watch here..the Anaheim Ducks. The team is trying to acquire some high-end young talent and the 23-year-old Laine fits the bill. The Ducks have all the necessary draft picks to make a contract work.

Keep an eye on these two restricted free agents as teams will surely be reaching out to gauge their interest but it's certainly going to take some enormous contracts to even get their respected general managers to think of letting them go.
