2 Potential Landing Spots For Pius Suter

The Chicago Blackhawks did not send Pius Suter a qualifying offer, which was certainly shocking after his strong rookie season. In 55 games, the 25-year-old center scored 14 goals and recorded 27 points. He also would become their second-line center in the process. However, he now has the chance to be an unrestricted free agent and teams absolutely should be interested. He is an offensive threat who can play in the top-six and on the power play.

Here are two potential landing spots for him.

Columbus Blue Jackets: With the Columbus Blue Jackets revamping their roster significantly already, they could look to sign Suter. There were interested in bringing Sam Reinhart in, but he of course was traded to the Panthers. Although Suter is not as big of a name, he could be a nice addition to their second or third-line center position. They have almost $26 million of cap space, so they could easily get a deal done.

Ottawa Senators: In 2017, Suter was invited to the Ottawa Senators' rookie camp, so they once were interested in him. Perhaps they could look to bring him in again, as he has showed that he is an NHL-caliber player. He would not have too much trouble fitting into their top-six, either. He also is young, so there is even room for more growth moving forward. For a rebuilding team like the Senators, that should grab their attention .
