2 Potential Trade Destinations For Evander Kane

Evander Kane may be on the move yet again. The San Jose Sharks are reportedly looking to trade the veteran winger because he has caused problems in their locker room. Although the Sharks are openly against rebuilding, they have no choice trading Kane.

He should grab the attention of other teams. He is an immensely talented top-six forward who is coming off a very strong season. In 56 games, he scored 22 goals and registered 49 points. This offensive production meshes well with the fact that he plays with a lot of physicality, too. Therefore, teams who are looking for a power forward could benefit from adding him to their lineup.

Kane would be a great addition for these two teams especially.

Toronto Maple Leafs

There is already speculation that Kane could end up on the Maple Leafs. He is the type of player that they desperately need, as he would give their forward group more overall tenacity. The Leafs also may  lose Zach Hyman to free agency, so Kane would be a great replacement.

For a deal to work, the Sharks would need to retain some salary, though. The Maple Leafs are notorious for their large contracts, so they do not have a lot of cap space to work with. With the Sharks needing to move Kane to improve morale, they should be open to retaining some cap. The Leafs could also send Alex Kerfoot the other way to save a bit of money, too.

Minnesota Wild

Although the Minnesota Wild showed great progress this season, they still need to upgrade their forwards. Kane could be a great addition, as it would give them another quality scorer and top-six winger. They also have a few forwards who set to become free agents, so they need to replace them. Furthermore, they have a lot of cap space to work with, so this is certainly possible.

They also may lose Jordan Greenway to the Kraken through the Expansion Draft if they choose to protect four defensemen. If that occurs, they surely should look to trade for Kane. This is especially true if the Sharks are willing to retain some of his salary.
