2 Teams Fighting Over Free-Agent Ryan Getzlaf

Ryan Getzlaf appears to be leaving the Anaheim Ducks and two teams have already surfaced as preferred destinations. The Boston Bruins and the Nashville Predators.

While the Bruins and Predators have now surfaced as two potential destinations, we should mention there's going to be a ton of interest in Getzlaf as he hasn't hit the open market in almost a decade. Some teams will want him in their top-six while others may see if he's interested playing third-line and second power-play minutes.

The Bruins need a replacement for David Krejci, the Predators need better options than Matt Duchene and Ryan Johansen. Some other teams you can expect to see contact Getzlaf include the Montreal Canadiens, Toronto Maple Leafs, Colorado Avalanche, Chicago Blackhawks, and Seattle Kraken.

Last season the 36-year-old recorded 17 points in 48 games which of course wasn't his best season. He did put up back to back 40-plus point seasons the two years previous and can still skate with the best of them. The Ryan Getzlaf sweepstakes are going to be fun to watch when free agency opens Wednesday at noon ET.
