2 Teams Who Should Sign Barclay Goodrow This Off-Season
With the Tampa Bay Lightning having no cap space, it is hard to imagine them re-signing Barclay Goodrow. Since being traded from the Sharks, Goodrow has been a fantastic bottom-six forward for the Lightning. He plays with an edge that makes him hard to handle and also is defensively sound. This season, he also contributed well offensively, as he scored 6 goals and recorded 20 points in 55 games. All of these factors make him a very alluring free agent this off-season. Not to mention, he is on the verge of winning back-to-back Stanley Cups, so he clearly has a lot of playoff success, too.
These two teams should consider signing Goodrow this summer.
Vancouver Canucks: The Vancouver Canucks need some help with in their bottom-six and Goodrow is certainly a great option. He not only would help them with his strong two-way play, but also his high degree of tenacity. This is something that the Canucks certainly need more of in their lineup, especially with them having a lot of younger players. The Canucks would benefit from him also being on their penalty kill, too. He is the type of player they need to find themselves back into the postseason next year.
Calgary Flames: Barclay Goodrow could be amazing fit with the Calgary Flames. When looking at their bottom-six, it is clear that Goodrow could fit either on the wing or at center for them. His versatility is something that should intrigue them. Furthermore, the Flames could use a heart-and-soul type of guy in their lineup, as things have been pretty disastrous for them. Given the fact that he is also just 28-years-old, they can safely give him a three-year deal and not have to worry about any regression.
