2 Teams Who Should Sign Power Forward Nick Ritchie

With the Boston Bruins not sending Nick Ritchie a qualifying offer, there's a good chance that he will be an unrestricted free agent. The Bruins still have time to sign him to a cheaper deal, but it definitely is not set in stone. Teams looking for a power forward who can chip in well offensively should be interested in his services. He is probably best suited for the third-line, but can play top-six or fourth-line minutes, too. In 56 games this season, he had 15 goals and 26 points.

Here are two teams who should consider signing him.

New York Rangers: The New York Rangers should be calling Ritchie once free agency starts. He could be a nice addition to their third-line and would give them a power forward they desperately need. After last season's incident with the Washington Capitals, getting adding a bit of sandpaper seems like a good idea. It also does not hurt that Ritchie can help produce solid offense in the process.

Calgary Flames: With his brother Brett already on the Flames, perhaps Nick would be excited to play there, too. Head coach Darryl Sutter likes physical players and Ritchie definitely fits that description. He would be a bit of upgrade from Milan Lucic on the third-line, but the latter could still play in their bottom-six elsewhere. The Flames could use a bit more depth with their forward group, so signing him would not be a bad thing at all.
