3 Players The Seattle Kraken Must Avoid From The Atlantic Division

With the Expansion Draft tomorrow, the Seattle Kraken have an abundance of potential players to choose from. There are many notable players, such as Carey Price and Vladimir Tarasenko, who they will certainly consider selecting. Yet, there are some players who absolutely should be avoided at all costs.

There are players to stay away from in every single division, so we will be taking a look at each of them before tomorrow.

First up, let's begin with the Atlantic Division.

Shea Weber (Montreal Canadiens): Shea Weber would warrant serious consideration if his career was not in jeopardy. He has multiple serious injuries and is, at a minimum, missing the entirety of next season. When watching him play this season, one wouldn't have guessed this, as he was a fantastic top-pair defenseman. Now, the 35-year-old may sadly never play again, so the Kraken need to pass.

John Moore (Boston Bruins): Many people may actually forget that John Moore is even still on the Boston Bruins. However, the 30-year-old defenseman actually played five games with the team this season and recorded two assists. However, like Weber, he too has had serious injury trouble. However, he also has a bad contract, as he carries a $2.75 million cap hit with two years left on his deal. Lastly, he is at best a 7th defenseman at this stage of his career, so there's no way he should be considered.

Frans Nielsen (Detroit Red Wings): Frans Nielsen may have only one year left on his contract, but his $5.25 million cap hit is too outrageous to take on. That price alone should keep the Kraken away. These past few seasons have not been treating him kindly, as his offensive totals have taken a monstrous nosedive. In 89 total games over the last two years, he only scored five goals and recorded 15 points. With that, the 37-year-old will be staying in Detroit.
