3 Possible Landing Spots For Veteran Winger Corey Perry
Corey Perry turned out to be a great signing for the Montreal Canadiens this season. After signing a one-year, $750,000 contract, the veteran would contribute solid offensive numbers and spectacular leadership. He was particularly effective during the postseason, as he scored four goals and registered ten points in 22 games. The 36-year-old showed that he has a lot left in the tank and easily should come back for at least one more season.
These three teams should try to sign the veteran winger this off-season.
Montreal Canadiens: Montreal absolutely should work hard to bring Perry back. He was a perfect addition to their bottom-six, as he was an offensive threat and played very physically. He was a huge reason behind the team's amazing run this postseason, too. If they can sign him to a contract similar to his last one, it really is a no-brainer for them. He also has expressed interest about staying in Montreal, so there is hope that an extension could get done.
Washington Capitals: The Washington Capitals have a lot of money invested in their bottom-six. They could look to change this by trading one of those contracts away. If this occurs, Perry would be a fantastic addition at a low price. His regular season was quite impressive as well, as he registered 21 points in 49 games. The Capitals could use that kind of production from their fourth-line.
Philadelphia Flyers: Perry plays the game like a true Flyer. Even though a lot of fans dislike him for his antics, he is effective because of his tenacity. Also, after the bad season the Flyers had, they are going to revamp their roster a bit. Adding Perry to their bottom-six wouldn't be a monstrous move, but it still would be beneficial.
