Avalanche and Landeskog Reach Last Minute Agreement
The Colorado Avalanche are bringing back their captain. Gabriel Landeskog and the Avs have come to a deal for the max eight-years paying him $7 million per season.
Landeskog re-signs in COL. 8 years

The Avalanche were trying hard to keep Landeskog around Nathan MacKinnon's cap hit so they can maintain the much needed flexibility with their cap. General manager Joe Sakic has done a great job since taking over and his cap management is certainly one of his strengths. The team still needs a starting goaltender and that's next on the list. For now, the biggest piece is coming back and Avalanche fans should be over the moon.
Landeskog was going to get some massive offers if he hit the open market. The Seattle Kraken and St Louis Blues were two teams that were ready to open up the ATM machine. They can turn their attention to other players as Colorado gets it done!
