Money talks that's for sure as it wasn't likely Kampfer was going to get a one-way contract from the Bruins. Last season the mobile defenseman appeared in 20 games recording five points. The former fourth-round pick of the Anaheim Ducks has spent his career with four different franchises including multiple stops in Boston, and time with the New York Rangers, Florida Panthers and Minnesota Wild.
Kampfer's best season came back in his first stint in Beantown back in 2010-11 when he recorded 10 points in 38 games. It's obvious he would have been just a depth option for the team next season and heads to Russia to get some more playing time.
