Boston Bruins Officially Sign Big Defenseman

The Boston Bruins have officially signed Derek Forbort to a three-year contract. It will carry a $3 million cap hit.

The Bruins just lost Jeremy Lauzon to the Seattle Kraken, so it makes sense that they decided to bring Forbort in as his replacement. He plays a very physical game and should be able to slot in their bottom-pair. In 56 games this season with the Winnipeg Jets, he had two goals and 12 points. He should be able to be a primary penalty killer because of his defense-first nature.

This is not too surprising of a deal, as the Bruins were said to be linked to him previously.
