Marc-Andre Fleury Traded to the Chicago Blackhawks
Well it hasn't happened for a very long time, but the reigning Vezina trophy winner has been traded. Marc-Andre Fleury has been dealt from the Vegas Golden Knights to the Chicago Blackhawks. This trade has been rumored for weeks and we have been following along it's every move.
On the first day of free agency exactly 20 years ago, the Buffalo #Sabres traded reigning Vezina Trophy winner Dominik Hasek to the #RedWings.

Nearly two decades later, history is repeating itself with Marc-Andre Fleury to the #Blackhawks
Hearing Marc Andre Fleury is on the move. Trade in the works involving the Vegas Golden Knights star goaltender.

Dreger was all over this news. Fleury has one season left on his current deal, making $7 million and is coming off an amazing season where he put up some monster numbers. A 26-10-0 record with a 1.98 GAA and a .928 save % was one of his best seasons, and considering he's 36 years old, that's quite impressive.
Fleury to Chicago. No salary retained. Nothing going back to Vegas. https://t.co/b7WmfygeZG

With a healthy Jonathan Toews returning, adding Seth Jones and now the Flower, you may want to sprinkle a bet on the Blackhawks to win the Cup!
Retirement Coming!?!?!?!?
CHI’s leverage here is that it could absorb MAF’s full cap hit and the Hawks were NOT on MAF’s 10-team no-trade list. So, given that MAF did NOT want to play anywhere other than VGK, here’s a question: Will he report to the Hawks? Or, at age 36, might he contemplate retirement? https://t.co/Bj06YC7oMq
