Buffalo Sabres Disappointed By Offers for Jack Eichel
The Buffalo Sabres started their fire sale recently by dealing both Sam Reinhart and Rasmus Ristolainen. While Jack Eichel is going to be next, apparently it's not going to be anytime soon, as Sabres general manager Kevyn Adams hasn't like what he's seen from other teams.
"in building this out and building around a core and foundation of critical assets, then we'd be open and looking at it. And if we didn't have that on the table or don't think that makes sense, then we won't do something. But yeah, I have no problem with Jack being here. ...

"maybe not as fun as others. We've gotten to know each other. I've talked to his agent twice today. There's constant communication. But I understand where he is. But from standpoint, he is a player on our team and a very good one - very, very good one. And that's how I look at it

As Adams would put it later, he's just trying to do his job. Word is the Sabres executive is looking for four assets, including two first round picks and the best young roster player on the team's NHL roster. Throw in another later pick and the bar has been set at four pieces.
With Eichel's health in question, and his motivation to try and play in Boston, it's no wonder teams are staying away from that price. Can you really blame them?
