Calgary and Chicago Complete a Trade

The Calgary Flames and Chicago Blackhawks have made a trade that sees physical defenseman Nikita Zadorov head to the Flames.

The restricted free agent will now need a contract in Calgary, as the team brings in the towering defenseman, adding another element to their back end. Losing Mark Giordano was certainly a big moment for the team and now they add an intimidating factor that can help the likes of Matthew Tkachuk and Milan Lucic piss off the other team.

Zadorov is a 26-year-old 6'6 defender who is versatile enough to play either side. Last season he recorded eight points in 55 games in Chi-Town and has spent time previously with the Colorado Avalanche and Buffalo Sabres.
