Calgary Flames Acquire Young Goalie
The Calgary Flames have acquired goaltender Daniel Vladar from the Boston Bruins for a 2022 third-round pick.
This is a good move for the Flames, as Vladar is a young goalie who seems to ready to be a full-time NHLer. He played five games with the Bruins this season. In them, he had a 2-2-1 record and .886 save percentage, but fell victim to one bad start. He is still just 23-years-old and has plenty of time left for more growth. With the Flames, he should have the chance to play.
The Bruins had to trade Vladar because they just signed Linus Ullmark earlier today. Jeremy Swayman will also be given the chance to be their backup this upcoming season. Therefore, Vladar would have been put on waivers and would have been claimed immediately.
The Flames now have their potential backup goalie for next season and did not have to pay much of a price at all. Overall, it's a good move for them.
