The Calgary Flames made a huge free agent splash as the team signed gritty forward Blake Coleman to a six-year deal worth $4.9 million per season.

Coleman slots into the Flames top-six, coming off a season where he put up 31 points in 55 games. His mark on the game isn't just on the stat sheet as Coleman is one of the best forecheckers in the league and was a huge part of the Stanley Cup championship team in Tampa Bay last season.
The 29-year-old was originally a third-round pick of the New Jersey Devils back in 2011, and now heads to his third organization. The Flames were sad to see Mark Giordano go, but by using his cap space to add Coleman, it certainly makes it a little bit easier to accept.
