Canada's Prime Minister Very Disappointed with Montreal Canadiens

The Montreal Canadiens turned some heads at this year's NHL draft after they selected Logan Mailloux with the 31st overall pick after the prospect asked teams to look elsewhere. Turns out it caught the attention of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who is a life long Habs fan.

Trudeau spoke to the media on Tuesday and was asked about what the Canadiens were thinking:

As a lifelong Habs fan I have to say I am deeply disappointed by the decision. I think it was a lack of judgment by the Canadiens organization. I think they have a lot of explaining to do.

Mailloux was in hot water after he shared some photos he certainly was not supposed to and was looking to become more mature and responsible before being selected into the NHL. The Canadiens felt the opposite, as they feel their resources can help the young man turn the corner.

General manager Marc Bergevin stated the team is committed to raising awareness among our players about the repercussions of their actions on the lives of others. We'll see it that goes.
