Carolina Hurricanes Looking To Trade Young Defenseman
According to Frank Seravalli, the Carolina Hurricanes are looking to trade defenseman Jake Bean. He was their first-round pick back in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft, but has not taken off yet.
This was his first season where he played on the Hurricanes with any true regularity. In 42 games, the offensive defenseman had a goal and 12 total points. In 2019-20 with the AHL's Charlotte Checkers, he had an impressive 48 points in 59 games. There could still be high upside with this offensive defenseman, so the Hurricanes will certainly have a lot of callers..
The Anaheim Ducks could be a potential fit, as they lost fellow puck-moving defenseman and former Hurricane first-round pick, Haydn Fleury to the Kraken. He also would have plenty of chances to succeed there, as they are in the midst of a rebuild and are not strong on the backend.
