Colorado Avalanche Make Final Offer to Gabriel Landeskog
The Colorado Avalanche are making one last ditch effort to sign their captain before Wednesday's free agency period opening up. The contract offer is for 7 years and worth $49 million, according to Elliotte Friedman.
Okay, working on some stuff. Biggest one is probably Landeskog...hearing 7x7 is on the table, and there are discussions about the possibility of eight years. We will see where this goes. There are others who want him.

Colorado is one of the NHL's best cap managed teams and general manager Joe Sakic is trying to keep Landeskog's AAV in the neighborhood of Nathan MacKinnon's to give the team the flexibility they need to either re-sign Philipp Grubauer or bring in a new goalie.
If Landeskog hits the open market, he's going to be the biggest fish in the water. His leadership and character is second to none and all 32 teams could use him in some fashion. We'll just have to wait and see if the Avalanche feel the same way.
