Columbus Blue Jackets Forward Leaves Team for KHL

The Columbus Blue Jackets have a roster spot to fill after Mikhail Grigorenko announced he's heading back to Russia.

The forward makes his way back to the KHL and signed a three-year contract with CSKA Moscow over the weekend. It's familiar territory for the free agent as he played three seasons with the club in Moscow from 2017-2020.

Last season Grigorenko tallied four goals and added eight assists in the 32 games he appeared in. The former first-round pick was selected 12th overall by the Buffalo Sabres back in 2012 and has played 239 NHL games since, recording 76 points.
