Dallas Stars Give Ryan Suter Massive Contract

The Dallas Stars have locked up veteran defenseman Ryan Suter and it makes complete sense why he signed there instead of any of the other 10 teams who were interested. The Stars gave the 36-year-old a four-year contract, worth $3.65 per season.

A risky move for sure as Suter's numbers on both sides of the puck have been declining the past few seasons. Regardless, there was a huge need for defenseman in Dallas after the towering Jamie Oleksiak left for the Seattle Kraken.

The Stars are hoping Suter can get back to his form that saw him record 48 points in 69 games in 2019-20. Suter joins his close friends Joe Pavelski and Ben Bishop in Dallas as with John Klingberg, Miro Heiskanen, and Esa Lindell, form a solid top-four in Big D.

As for Suter's buddy Zach Parise, expect to see him sign on Long Island on Wednesday.
