Duncan Keith Traded to the Edmonton Oilers
The Edmonton Oilers and Chicago Blackhawks apparently made some serious head way over the weekend with their trade talks and it appears Duncan Keith will be heading to the Oilers.
Hearing today that CHI/EDM are closing in on the Duncan Keith deal. May take time, but progress in the weekend

Sources indicate the Oilers and Blackhawks are making progress on a trade involving Duncan Keith. Not done. The process is moving along. Both GM’s are involved in league meetings today, however more discussion on the trade is expected.

Makes you wonder who Friedman and Dreger use as sources as they both tweeted out the info 30 seconds apart. In Keith the Oilers are getting a veteran defenseman who wanted to be closer to his family. It's been a hell of a run in Chicago, but both he and the franchise agreed it was time to move on. He has two years left on his contract, paying him $5.53 million per season.
The return from Edmonton has been rumored to be young defenseman Caleb Jones but we'll have to wait until Friedman and Dreger provide some more timely updates. Given they both went to market today with the new information, it's likely the deal goes down in the next 48 hours. And then thankfully, we can all move on.
*UPDATE - DONE DEAL*
Pending trade call, sounds like #Hawks Duncan Keith will indeed be heading to #Oilers in exchange for D Caleb Jones and a mid-round pick (3rd or 4th round).

Final details still being ironed out. @DFOHockey
I am not high on Caleb Jones, but Chicago getting *anything* back for the ghost of Duncan Keith is truly incredible.

He may have something left in the tank that public models don't account for, but he's already not playing tough minutes and still struggling. pic.twitter.com/rXBM7P9cHj
