Edmonton Oilers Not Qualifying These Two RFAs

Ken Holland has confirmed that the Edmonton Oilers are not tendering qualifying offers to forwards Jujhar Khaira and Dominik Kahun. Barring any last minute changes, they each should be hitting the open market on July 28th.

Khaira has been a mainstay in the Oilers' bottom-six over the last four seasons. He also played significant amount of time on the team's penalty kill because of his respectable defensive ability. In 40 games this season, the 26-year-old had three goals and 11 points. He should gain a decent amount of interest because of his strong degree of tenacity, too.

Kahun joined the Oilers this season, but had trouble replicating his past offensive totals. In 48 games, he scored nine goals and recorded 15 points. He was seen as a potential top-six forward for the Oilers, but the fit just wasn't there. If he ends up signing with a new team this summer, he will be joining his fifth team going into his fourth season. That would make him quite the journeyman already in his short career.
