Edmonton Oilers Sign Recent Acquisition To Extension
After trading defenseman Ethan Bear to acquire him, the Edmonton Oilers have now signed Warren Foegele to a three-year, $8.25 million contract. It will have an average annual value of $2.75 million.
Foegele has developed into a solid middle-six winger and should become a key part of the Oilers' penalty kill. He also could end up getting some time on their power play, too, as he can utilized as a strong net-front presence. He does not shy away from the physical side of the game either, so his presence will sure be welcomed in Edmonton. We like the new guy. We're going to keep him for a while.

In 53 games this season with the Hurricanes, the 25-year-old winger scored 10 goals and recorded 20 points. It will be interesting to see if his offensive production goes up a bit, as he will have a strong supporting cast around him.
