Florida Panthers Extend Key Forward
According to Pierre LeBrun, the Florida Panthers are signing Carter Verhaeghe to a three-year extension. It's expected to have a cap hit of over $4 million. It begins during the 2022-23 season, as he has one year left on his current deal.
The Panthers signed Verhaeghe last off-season to a two-year, $2 million deal. It has turned out to be a complete steal for them, as he has blossomed into a real scoring threat. In 43 games this season, the 25-year-old scored 18 goals and registered 36 points. In his rookie season with the Lightning the year before, he only had nine goals and 13 points in 52 games.Hearing that Florida Panthers forward Carter Verhaeghe, such a great story this past season, is signing a three-year extension later today worth just north of $4M AAV per season. Has another year next season at $1M. So signing one year out. @TSNHockey @TheAthletic

The Panthers are continuing to make strong moves and Verhaeghe now is a long-term part of the team. It will be interesting to how he performs next season.
