Free Agent Ryan Suter Down to 2 Teams

When the Minnesota Wild bought out defenseman Ryan Suter, every single general manager in the league was interested. The veteran defenseman has been one of the best in his era and each team had a different level of interest. Turns out two have made the finals, and Suter is choosing between the New York Islanders and Dallas Stars.

The Islanders have held interest in Suter for some time and the marriage certainly makes sense as try to upgrade their roster. It's believed the team is willing to go three years on a contract as well, which for a 36-year-old is music to his ears.

As for the Dallas Stars, they have some big shoes to fill with Jamie Oleksiak heading to the Seattle Kraken so Suter could certainly bring a little more offense to the table. Last season he recorded 19 points in 56 games but is only one season removed from tallying 48 points in 69 games. Tyler Seguin, Jamie Benn and company would be hopeful he can get back to these types of numbers in Big D.

Announcement is expected on Wednesday where Suter ends up signing.
