Golden Knights Contact Sabres About Jack Eichel Trade
The Vegas Golden Knights are going to try hard this summer to upgrade their top-two lines as the team relied too heavily on their goaltender and solid defense last season. Turns out management has been busy chatting trades and one team they have contacted are the Buffalo Sabres regarding their captain Jack Eichel.
Friedman on 31 Thoughts says he's had a couple of people tell him an Eichel trade might not happen until after the expansion draft, also says Vegas is sniffing around.

Eichel and his camp admitted earlier this week that they are getting close to a resolution in Buffalo as they have been communicating regularly with Sabres general manager Kevyn Adams. The Golden Knights are looking to make a couple of moves this summer and the first one is sending Marc-Andre Fleury packing. The Flower's $7 million contract would need to be moved first before the Golden Knights would be able to fit in Eichel's $10 million for the next five seasons.
Last season the former second overall pick battled a neck injury and recorded only two goals and 18 points in 21 games. Vegas has a ton of young assets to offer Adams in Buffalo, including prospects Cody Glass and Lukas Cormier, and also the team's first round pick. Keep an eye on these two clubs as both are in line for some major moves and could very well make a splash together.
