Huge Update On Carey Price Situation with Seattle
When the protected list of players for the Montreal Canadiens was announced on Saturday, everyone was pretty shocked to see Carey Price left unprotected. Turns out the netminder knew long before it was coming.
Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff was the first to break the news:
As #SeaKraken contemplate options, sources say Carey Price's health has clouded the selection process. It's too soon to say for certain, but he may miss significant time next season with a hip injury.
As @frank_seravalli reported, I also believe Price will have his hip checked out. But the potential surgery I’m told is knee related

Price is set to have surgery on potentially his knee and hip is could miss a magnitude of time next season. The netminder was open to being exposed as it's certainly going to be a huge gamble for the Kraken to select the veteran, and Price knew how bad the team wanted and needed to protect backup Jake Allen.
The Seattle Kraken have a very good chance to be good as early as next season and if the select Price, they may have to wait a year to see him in uniform. Starting a franchise with a franchise goalie is never a bad way to start, no matter how long you have to wait.
