Maple Leafs Won't Be Trading Away Any Core Pieces This Summer

Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Kyle Dubas held a media availability over the weekend and it was obvious he's sticking with his guns. Don't expect the Leafs to be moving on from any of their core players and the team is only looking to add some secondary talent to their mix this summer.

Dubas would go on to mention he believes in the team and believes they can finally get over the hump next season. The team is losing Zach Hyman and potentially Nick Foligno, so there's certainly going to be holes to fill. Throw in the fact they only have one goaltender under contract and need another depth defenseman and Dubas and company have lots of work to do this offseason.

Some of Leafs Nation are surprised the team isn't blowing it up, meanwhile many others are conscious of the fact the core with John Tavares has only been together for three seasons and considering how he was knocked out of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, they want a re-due with the group they had.

It won't all be the same, but expect many of the same faces for the Maple Leafs next season as they try to win their first playoff series in almost two decades. One person who believes they can - Kyle Dubas.
