Maple Leafs Zach Hyman Linked to Edmonton Oilers
The Toronto Maple Leafs continue to negotiate a contract with Zach Hyman and his agent as free agency is just around the corner. Meanwhile TSN's Darren Dreger recently reported it wouldn't come at a huge surprise to him to see the Edmonton Oilers try to get involved.
Dreger reported it wouldn't shock him if Oilers general manager Ken Holland called Dubas and inquired about the asking price for Hyman's negotiation rights. Imagine the Maple Leafs end up landing a first-round pick for Hyman, it's certainly going to set off a fire storm of mixed feelings to the fan base.
It's been speculated that Hyman and Dubas are far off in contract talks and the gap appears to be too big to overcome. It's hard to doubt Dubas at this point considering he did eventually get Mitch Marner and William Nylander signed. The Seattle Kraken expansion draft is looming as well, so there's some major decisions coming in the very near future. Leafs Nation buckle up.
