Max Domi Appears To Be Finished In Columbus

Well, this is shocking. Columbus Blue Jackets forward Max Domi is expected to be left unprotected at the Expansion Draft, according to Darren Dreger. This likely marks the end of Domi's time in Columbus, as it would be shocking if the Kraken do not pick him.

This is a very strange decision, as the team just traded Josh Anderson for Domi last off-season. In 54 games this season, Domi scored nine goals and recorded 24 points. There is no question that it was a down year for the 26-year-old, but letting him go for nothing is extremely risky. He had 72 points with the Canadiens just two seasons ago and is a top-six forward at the NHL level.

If Domi gets claimed and finds his scoring touch with the Kraken, this will be an immensely criticized decision by the Blue Jackets.

We will have to wait and see what happens, but the Expansion Draft has now gotten even more interesting.
