Montreal Canadiens Add Veteran Forward
The Montreal Canadiens have signed Mathieu Perreault to one-year, $950,000 contract. This comes after the news of Corey Perry signing with the Tampa Bay Lightning.
In 56 games this season with the Winnipeg Jets, Perreault scored nine goals and recorded 19 points. Although his best days are behind him, he can still be an effective bottom-six forward for the Canadiens. He also could be utilized on their penalty kill, as it's a role he took on during his time in Winnipeg. The Canadiens have agreed to terms on a one-year contract with forward Mathieu Perreault.#GoHabsGohttps://t.co/fDcv1Rx3JQ

Perreault also comes with a lot of overall experience. The 33-year-old has 683 career NHL games under his belt to go along with 139 goals and 343 total points.
Overall, this is a cheap depth signing that should benefit the Canadiens moving forward.
