Montreal Canadiens Working on Goalie Trade
Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin has turned his attention from the Stanley Cup Final to the Seattle Kraken expansion draft. The Canadiens are one of the teams most concerned with the Kraken's selection as the Habs could potentially lose goaltender Jake Allen. Looks like Bergevin is trying the proactive approach.
Friedman on 31 Thoughts says Canadiens looking to see if they can avoid losing Jake Allen for nothing. Will be hard to trade goalies since every team has one goalie they're protecting, but they're looking to see if that's possible.

It's no secret Allen is a perfect target for the Kraken as he's signed for two more seasons at only $2.87 million per and last season was solid for Montreal as he ended playing more than Carey Price in the regular season. He's a 1-B/2 but paired with someone like Braden Holtby from the Vancouver Canucks and the expansion Kraken start their franchise off with two Stanley Cup winning goaltenders on their roster. Not a bad way to start, however Bergevin may go ahead and ruin all their plans.
The goalie market is going to be one of the more fascinating to watch and the Canadiens might be kicking off the party.
