Montreal Gets Their Head Coach Back for Game 3 of Stanley Cup Final

The Montreal Canadiens will have Dominique Ducharme back behind the bench tonight for Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final. Ducharme had been sidelined the last two weeks with COVID-19. During his absence, the Canadiens were run by assistant coach Luke Richardson. Richardson certainly has done a good job with this large task, as he helped the Canadiens defeat the Vegas Golden Knights.

However, even with Richardson's success in the role, it is awesome to see Ducharme back. The Canadiens are trailing the Lightning 2-0 in the series, so Ducharme returning could be the jolt that they need. This series is far from over, but a loss tonight would change that.

The way the Canadiens played in Game 2 does offer some optimism, as they were fantastic. They dominated the flow of the game significantly. This is made clear by the fact they outshot the Lightning 43-23. They just did not capitalize enough on their chances. Yet, if they play the same way tonight, they will certainly have a good shot of winning.

Regardless of what occurs in Game 3, it is just nice to see Ducharme healthy and ready to go. He has done marvelously as head coach since replacing Claude Julien earlier this season and warrants all the praise in the world.

We shall see how the Canadiens respond tonight at 8:00 PM. You certainly will not want to miss it!
