Nashville Predators Send Viktor Arvidsson to the Los Angeles Kings
The Nashville Predators have traded Viktor Arvidsson to the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for a 2021 2nd round pick and 2022 3rd round pick.
Arvidsson has been in the rumor mill for quite some time, so seeing him dealt is not too surprising. The Predators are certainly in need of some changes with their lineup, as they did have their struggles this season.
When looking at Arvidsson's contract, it is quite interesting. The 28-year-old has three years remaining on it to go along with a $4.250 million cap hit. The Kings have a good amount of money to work with, so this should not cause any problems for them. Furthermore, Arvidsson is a nice addition to their top-six forward group.
In 50 games this season with Nashville, Arvidsson scored 10 goals and registered 25 points. These numbers are solid, but he has shown greater success in the past. He hit the 60-point plateau twice in his career, but has not since the 2018-19 season. If Arvidsson can get back to that level of production, this trade has the potential to be a complete steal for the Kings.
Overall, it seemed like Arvidsson needed a change of scenery, and he now has it. The Kings have added a talented forward, so their fans should be excited. The Predators, on the other hand, now have a lot of cap space going into the off-season. Expect to see them be aggressive in free agency because of this.
