New York Rangers Acquire An Enforcer
The New York Rangers have acquired enforcer Ryan Reaves from the Vegas Golden Knights. New York has sent their 2022 third-round pick the other way. Another original Vegas player is now off the team.
After what occurred last season against the Washington Capitals, it makes sense that the Rangers are looking to add more toughness to the lineup. Reaves certainly will help with that, as he is one of the game's best fighters and has been known to protect his teammates. He will be slotted on their fourth-line moving forward. The Golden Knights have acquired a 2022 3rd round pick from the New York Rangers in exchange for forward Ryan Reaves. #VegasBorn https://t.co/LoiZMB6YT7

In 37 games this season with the Golden Knights, the 34-year-old winger scored a goal and had five total points. He may not provide the most amount of offense, but he will add something entirely new to the Rangers' lineup.
Vegas not only gains cap space from this trade, but also a pretty decent pick for Reaves. He has one more year left on his contract and it carries a $1.75 million cap hit.
