New York Rangers Add Depth Defenseman

The New York Rangers have signed defenseman Jarred Tinordi to a two-year contract. It will carry a cap hit of $900,000 for each season.

Tinordi will likely be the team's seventh defenseman moving forward. The 6'6" 205 pounder will provide some much-needed physicality to the Rangers. This is something that the Rangers should definitely be excited about. Even though Tinordi is not a star by any means, he is a reliable defenseman who can step in well when injuries inevitably arise.

In 21 games this season between the Nashville Predators and Boston Bruins, the 29-year-old had one assist to go along with 11 penalty minutes. His most memorable part of the season was when he fought Tom Wilson after his high hit on Brandon Carlo.

This is a cheap signing that should ultimately benefit the Rangers moving forward.
