New York Rangers Sign Ryan Reaves To Extension
The New York Rangers have signed Ryan Reaves to a one-year, $1.75 million extension. This now means he will be under contract until after the 2022-23 season. He just was traded there a few days ago.
It is clear that the Rangers are prioritizing toughness, as they have added both Reaves and big defenseman Jarred Tinordi this off-season so far. That is not a bad thing of course, as they are a young team who could use some protection. The Tom Wilson incident last season made this abundantly clear.**Breaking News** I can confirm new addition @reavo7five has agreed to a 1 yr 1.75M extension with @NYRangers .@espn @NHLNetwork @NHL #HockeyTwitter

Reaves is an old-fashioned enforcer who can chip in offensively every once in awhile. In 37 games this season with the Golden Knights, he scored a goal and recorded five points. However, in the previous two seasons, he had a combined 17 goals and 35 points.
Barring any changes, Reaves will now be a member of the Rangers for two seasons instead of just one.
