Nick Foligno Has Chosen His Next Destination

It seemed that Nick Foligno would end up joining the Minnesota Wild to play with his brother, Marcus. However, he instead will be playing for the Boston Bruins next season.

This should be a good signing for the Bruins, as Foligno is a former captain who will provide extra leadership. He also plays the game very physically, which is something that the Bruins need more of in their lineup. At this stage of his career, he is probably best-suited to play third-line minutes. Coincidentally, that is where the Bruins needed some help after the departure of Nick Ritchie.

In 49 games this season between the Columbus Blue Jackets and Toronto Maple Leafs, the 33-year-old winger scored seven goals and recorded 20 points. The Blue Jackets notably acquired a first-round pick from the Leafs and Foligno unfortunately struggled a bit there. He failed to score a goal and was limited to just 11 games in total, which includes the postseason.

Yet, he now has a clean slate and a chance to join another contender in Boston. We will see how it works out.
