Ottawa Senators Sign Veteran Defenseman
Michael Del Zotto has signed a two-year, $4 million contract with the Ottawa Senators.
With the Columbus Blue Jackets last season, Del Zotto scored four goals and recorded 13 points in 53 games. He is a bottom-pair defenseman who can contribute offensively, especially when given time on the power play. The $2 million cap hit may be a bit higher than expected, but the Senators do have money to work with. The #Sens have agreed to terms with defenceman Michael Del Zotto on a two-year contract.

The 31-year-old also should be a good mentor to the younger guys on this rebuilding club. Del Zotto has 710 career games under his belt, so he has a plethora of overall experience. We will see how he does these next two seasons with the Senators.
