Report: One Team is OUT on Ryan Suter
Free agent defenseman Ryan Suter is one of the biggest names on the market at the moment and is sure to sign his new contract in the very near future. Turns out he can apparently cross St Louis off the list.
Told #stlblues are out on Dman Ryan Suter. There was very strong mutual interest but St. Louis couldn’t meet the term. Don’t be surprised if Suter signs for as many as four years.

The Blues were one of the teams we shared earlier this weekend as a team with interest, however it appears they are now headed in a different direction. To note on what Strickland points out above is the fact some teams are willing to go four years on Suter. He's 36 years old at the moment and certainly isn't the most fleet of foot, those third and fourth years are certainly going to be risky business.
Last season the veteran recorded 19 points in 56 games, which was one of his worst statistical seasons of his career. Was it a one-off? Or is this what teams should expect? That's the four million dollar question at the moment.
