Report: Zach Hyman's Agent Given Permission To Speak With Other Teams
It seem likely that Zach Hyman will not be on the Maple Leafs next season. Darren Dreger has reported that the Leafs have given his agent, Todd Reynolds, permission to speak with other NHL teams. His rights could be traded if they find a fit.
Hyman has been a real heart-and-soul player for the Leafs since his arrival back during the 2015-16 season. As time went by, his offensive totals would start to jump and he would cement himself in their top-six. This now makes him a real threat today, as he not only can score, but also plays with a high degree of tenacity. It makes sense that he is such a hot commodity already.Sources say the Maple Leafs have granted Zach Hyman’s agent, Todd Reynolds permission to speak with other NHL clubs to investigate trading his rights.

St. Louis among those with legit interest in potential free agent Zach Hyman…lots of interest from a number of teams in Canada as well. Edmonton, Vancouver, Calgary. I do believe Seattle could become a player as well. #stlblues #Cofred #Canucks #Oilers #Seakraken #Leafsforever

In 43 games this season, the winger scored 15 goals and recorded 33 points in total. However, his success in recent seasons had made his asking price far too large for the Leafs. With him being 29-years-old and this being his one shot at a big contract, it is understandable that he wants to cash in.
Nonetheless, this is something to keep an eye on moving forward.
