Rumor: Boston Bruins To Add This Left-Handed Defenseman

According to Elliotte Friedman, the Boston Bruins may be signing defenseman Derek Forbort. It would certainly make sense if they did, as they just lost Jeremy Lauzon to the Seattle Kraken and are in need of replacement.

Forbort is noted for being a solid shutdown defenseman who specializes on the penalty kill. With the Winnipeg Jets this season, he also was able to add some offense to his game, too. In 56 games, he scored two goals and recorded 12 points. The 6'4" 220 pound defenseman also is a heavy hitter, and that is something that Boston certainly wants more of after last season's disappointing finish.

Although he isn't as big of a name as players like Ryan Suter and Keith Yandle, Forbort does fill a real hole for Boston. He likely would be slotted on their bottom-pairing with Connor Clifton.

We will see if Friedman is correct shortly, but it sure makes sense if so.
