Rumor: Gabriel Landeskog Set to Receive Huge Offer From Eastern Conference Team
The Colorado Avalanche and their captain Gabriel Landeskog have been going back and forth in contract talks and to this point it's taken them absolutely nowhere. Landeskog is growing frustrated with the team for their efforts to this point and for their low-ball offers. Appears the Avs' captain won't have to wait long to receive a mega-offer on the open market.
The New York Islanders cleared themselves of some serious cap space over the weekend by giving up Andrew Ladd to the Arizona Coyotes, along with several draft picks for absolutely nothing in return. The team also didn't protect Josh Bailey or Jordan Eberle, so they could be losing another 5+ million off the books for next season. Turns out they are heavily interested in Landeskog and want to make him a huge offer come July 28.
I can't get over the Andrew Ladd trade. Getting off that deal in this environment without surrendering a first is mind blowing.

Incredible work from Lamoriello. Might actually deserve his third consecutive GM of the year award.
is there anything more inevitable than the Islanders offering Gabriel Landeskog 7x$8M on the 28th

Landeskog has the intangibles teams crave for and and he would fit in perfectly within Barry Trotz' system on Long Island. Certainly a team to watch as we approach the big day next week.
