Rumor: Islanders and Blues Discussing Huge Trade
The New York Islanders have contacted the St Louis Blues about forward Vladimir Tarasenko and word is they are currently reviewing his medical history to navigate any red flags from his multiple shoulder surgeries. If everything clears by their doctors, a deal could be finalized soon.

Apparently Tarasenko's latest surgery was butchered and there's been some concerns from other teams regarding his health. The Russian sniper informed the Blues he wants to be traded this offseason and has submitted his list of approved teams as he holds full no-trade protection.
As for what the deal would consist of, Tarasenko holds a $7.5 million cap hit for this season and next, so the Islanders would certainly need to get creative. After sending multiple draft picks to the New Jersey Devils for Kyle Palmieri and Travis Zajac, it's likely the deal includes a couple of prospects and a combination of Jordan Eberle, Josh Bailey and Anthony Beauvillier. Beauvillier is an interesting piece as the 24-year-old is developing into a solid top-six forward.
Other than both New York teams, expectation is Tarasenko prefers either the Washington Capitals or Florida Panthers as potential destinations. It won't be long before we have a trade to announce, as this deal will be completed early this summer.
