Rumor: Maple Leafs Targeting 2 Left-Wingers via Trade

The Toronto Maple Leafs have some work to do as the franchise hasn't been out of the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs in nearly 20 years. General manager Kyle Dubas is ready to pounce on some changes as the Maple Leafs are trying to pull off a trade or two.

2 Left-Wingers of Interest for the Maple Leafs

Tyler Bertuzzi, Detroit Red Wings: The 26-year-old winger is a fierce competitor who would certainly add to the killer instinct the Maple Leafs are looking to find this summer. Last season he was injured and only ended up playing nine games, recording seven points.

Bertuzzi is the type of player who could potentially replace Zach Hyman if he decides to walk, or compliment the second line with John Tavares and William Nylander.

Miles Wood, New Jersey Devils: The Leafs have been linked to Wood for a couple of seasons now and would love to add his speed and size to their lineup. The Devils also love the player, so any deal would have to be a slight overpay on the Leafs part. Considering they gave the Devils Andreas Johnsson for basically nothing to dump salary before last season, perhaps some good will goes a long way. Wood finished last season with 17 goals in 55 games and has one season left on his deal, paying him $2.75 million. Certainly a number the Maple Leafs could fit under their cap.
